How To Do Hard Things

I’m so excited to celebrate two special milestones this week: the fourth anniversary of Teaching with the HEART in Mind and the sale of over 10,000 copies! I am grateful for all of you, your ongoing support, and your belief that growing hearts and minds is the work that matters.
When I set out to write this book, I was sharing a piece of myself—the lessons I’ve learned as an educator, the challenges I’ve faced, and the belief that we can all make a difference in the lives of our students.
And what I’ve discovered since then is truly inspiring. I’ve heard from so many of you about how the book has inspired you to try new things in your classroom, to have difficult conversations with students, and to grow your own HEART skills.
During this celebration, I am taking time to reflect on the fact that writing and publishing the book wasn’t easy. There were times of self-doubt and even moments of sheer terror at the thought of putting my ideas out there for the world to see. It felt vulnerable.
But I pushed through those fears, and I’m so glad I did because in those moments of challenge, I was able to truly grow and discover my own strength.
In light of these milestones, our latest video provides insights into the lessons I learned through this process and offers tips for anyone trying to do hard things.
Here’s to embracing challenges, learning and growing, and being true to ourselves!
